Navigation aids

  • All pages have rel=home links to aid navigation in text-only browsers.

Fonts

This site uses relative font sizes that you can control using the settings in your web browser.

You can change the text size in Microsoft Internet Explorer by:

  • Using your mouse and selecting View > Text size followed by your preferred text size from 'Smallest' to 'Largest'. The default setting is 'Medium'.

You can change the text size in Mozilla Firefox by:

  • Using your mouse and selecting View > Text size followed by 'Increase' or 'Decrease'. To return the text size to its default setting, select 'Normal'.
  • Using your keyboard and pressing 'Control +' to increase, 'Control -' to decrease or 'Control 0' to return to the default setting.

Links

  • Many links in the site have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail.
  • For users of text only browsers a skip navigation link is at the top of each page.

Images

All content images on this site have alternative text attributes, known as alt text. When an image is used on a web page to convey information its content is also described in the alt text. This means that the image can be understood by text browsers and assistive technologies such as screen readers. If an image is used purely for decorative purposes, the text attribute for the image is left empty in line with accepted best practice.
